Jennifer
B. Kahnweiler, Ph.D., is President of AboutYOU, Inc.
a consulting firm based in Atlanta, GA that delivers high
impact speaking programs designed to maximize success in the
workplace. She is also an author and sought after media
expert on workplace issues.
Jennifer has served in internal Human Resource consulting
positions at GE, AGL Resources and the U.S. Dept. of
Education. In her training and consulting work she has
collaborated with such organizations as The American
Management Association, Capital One, Turner Broadcasting,
AT&T, the Coca-Cola Company and Duke Energy. She has respect
from the international business community and in 2006 taught
an invited management seminar series in Tokyo, Japan which
focused on sharing western business practices with Japanese
business women.
As Vice President of Manchester, an international human
resources consulting firm, Dr. Kahnweiler delivered and
marketed programs to senior executives. Earlier in her
career, she was director of the career center at the
University of Cincinnati. Her first innovative
entrepreneurship venture was launched with the Procter and
Gamble Company and Chiquita Brands when her firm helped to
successfully recruit dual career couples to their
headquarters locations.
Dr. Kahnweiler is co-author with Dr. Bill Kahnweiler of a
highly regarded book for HR professionals called Shaping
Your HR Role: Succeeding in Today's Organizations
(Elsevier, 2005). She also has a chapter in, Starting and
Growing A Business in the New Economy (NCDA 2006).
Jennifer writes the Advisor column for AARP The Magazine,
the Ask the Expert column for
www.shrm.org and is
a regular blog contributor to
www.ajcjobs.com. She
was even a “makeover expert” on the WTBS television show
“Movie and a Makeover,” where she successfully advised a
homemaker transitioning back to work. She is also frequently
quoted in the The Wall Street Journal, The New York
Times, The Chicago Tribune and The Washington Post.
Dr. Kahnweiler earned her Ph.D. in Counseling and Human
systems from Florida State University. She received her
Master's degree in Counseling and Bachelor's degree in
Sociology from Washington University, St. Louis. In addition
to holding Master Career Counselor (MCC) and Licensed
Professional Counselor (LPC) certifications, she has served
on the boards of both the National Career Development
Association (NCDA) and The Georgia Executive Women’s Network
(GEWN).. In 2005, Jennifer was awarded the Outstanding
Career Practitioner of the Year by NCDA and has been deemed
a “world class expert” by the American Management
Association. She actively participates to the National
Speakers Association-GA and SHRMAtlanta chapters and finds
her work as a volunteer ESL tutor especially rewarding.
